Back in Barbados

Hello Beloved,

Just popping in to say that Bajan Baby, the Little Prince and I are back in Barbados for a month for some good  old R&R.

It's not as hot this time of the year and in fact there is a pretty chilling breeze that keeps blowing meaning that I don't need the aircon let alone the fan  and the kids are actually quite cool (although Bajan Baby is still developing a heat rash *argh!*)

So far we've been reunited with both sets of grandparents and a whole bunch of cousins but have only managed one visit to the beach - probably because we are reliant on other people for transportation! I plan to pick up the pace next week and see if I can get back to our past regime of daily visits for the remainder of our time.

I also plan to post daily (ok Monday to Friday) just to kick start my blog loving again :) and I'm basing it on a 'first words' theme - which will be a collection of words or a phrase that came to me on that particular day.

Eg. Yesterday I was walking along the South Coast.

"Vibrant Reds. Lucious Greens. Salty Sea"

I passed ginger lilies, red crotons, hibiscus and a plant I used to call 'cat tails' but am sure has a proper name. I also saw a red flower that I used to suck nectar from.... I wonder if I was secretly poisoning myself? You know how sturdy we are as kids - I bet if I drank from it now I'd break out in hives lol.

The colours in everything just looked so much louder! I dipped my toes in the ocean and just sat in peace while awaiting my ride home. It was my first day off in over a year - it was so weird not having to 'mind' a child every second of every minute - I really wasn't sure what to do with myself! My mum treated me to a day at the spa - I'll talk about that in a different post.

For now here are some pics - hopefully I won't find them in some off-key place.

They were taken on my iPhone so not the best quality but I just wanted to share them.

I used to work at an environmental company at the end of this tree lined road. I had the most fantastic time ever. The business is no longer located here hence my distal shot :) The company was owned by a fellow graduate of Cambridge university (B) who employed me after my other summer internship fell through. My bestie (also a Cambridge chick) used to grin because she would wear suits and head off to her law internship and there was me, riding with B in the back of his truck while he showed me the ropes or dressed in shorts and t-shirts doing paperwork in the office - same university - two very different internships!  The best part of working here - apart from the stimulating company of course - was what was across the road...

We would knock off around 2:30 and I would be a beach bum for the rest of the day before making my way home. BLISS! Best internship ever I tell you!

The picture below is me wearing my Beshe Drew wig from One of my lovely clients suggested it and actually helped me order from the US. I have not regretted it... and for those of you who've been tracking my story ... yes that is my OWN hair you can see right at the top at the front WOOHOO! (updates to come heheh). Goofball expression courtesy of my parents lol.

And my last pic for today - a pic of the Little Prince and Bajan Baby in grandmum's garden.  The prince turned 3 in December (2011) and old Baby Big Hair will be 2 in 3 weeks.

WELCOME TO THE TAPESTRY OF ME.... These are my words and this is my journey, from 'there to hair'! My life, the lessons learned in and through love and loves ones; and my hair affairs.

Thx Bajan. Meanwhile I'll search for the previous post on HG. She's on some anti sickness meds. Sleeping most of the day.
